Our History
Strandfontein Primary School has played a significant role in the educational landscape of its community since its establishment in 1978. As the first primary school built after Strandfontein High School, it quickly became a cornerstone for local families seeking quality education for their children.
The school's inaugural principal, Hubert Johnathan, set the stage for its future, establishing a foundation of academic excellence and community involvement. His successors, William Buchenroder, Stanford Albanie, Gerard Mars, and Vernon Erfort, each brought unique perspectives and leadership styles that contributed to the school's ongoing development and adaptation to the changing needs of the community.
Today, under the guidance of Abubaker De Wet, Strandfontein Primary continues to uphold its mission of providing a supportive and enriching educational environment. The school's rich history reflects its commitment to nurturing students and fostering a sense of belonging, ensuring that it remains a vital institution for many residents of Strandfontein and beyond.
Over the past four decades, the school has not only educated generations of students but has also built strong connections within the community, reinforcing its identity as a place of learning and growth. Each principal's contributions have left an indelible mark on the school's mission and vision, shaping its identity as a vital educational resource.
